TL;DR — What changes for players?
A larger demo refresh adds collecting tutorials and test packs. Your furthest progression is preserved; the card and ability changes below compare against the previous playtest build.
Origins Tavern’s recap and explanations, based on Koin Games’ announcement.
The changes in detail
New features
- The interface and board visuals are refreshed. Collecting gets a tutorial, test packs and new voice lines.
- The more advanced progression from the demo or playtest is retained, avoiding repeated card unlocks.
Card balance
| Card | Change in this build |
|---|---|
| Guy of Gisborne | 3/3 → 4/4 |
| Quasimodo | 2/5 → 3/4 |
| Beauty | Power 1 → 2 |
| Wicked Stepmother | Power 3 → 4 |
| Magic Carpet | Power 3 → 4 |
| Roo | Health 3 → 4 |
| Dorothy | 5 → 4 mana |
| Itsy Bitsy Spider | Neutral → Evil |
Abilities and interactions
- Silver Bullet can also target barriers. Don Quixote gains Defender.
- Repeating Heroic Charge applies its +2 Power buff again.
- Frog Prince and Magic Carpet keep existing buffs when played and can choose again after returning to hand.
- Wooden Stake can target full-health characters, but fails if its target is still undamaged when it reveals.
Release context
- The Crimson Cup card pool is provisional and may change through later balance patches. Ranked and exclusive rewards are announced for Steam Next Fest, rather than activated by this announcement.
- Existing playtest players do not gain new decks, cards or bosses here. Interface polish is planned for that separate playtest later in the week.
